Policy
Machine use.
Search engines and assistants may read and quote this site. Training models on it is not permitted.
In short
Search: yes
Index the pages and show them in results.
AI answers: yes
Read pages to answer a question, with a link to the source page.
Model training: no
Do not use the content to train or fine-tune models.
Copying: ask first
Republishing pages or the checklist in full needs our permission.
What is allowed
- Crawling every public page, as robots.txt allows.
- Showing titles, descriptions and short quotes in search results and in answers, with a link to the page quoted.
- Using the checklist to assess your own site, and citing it with a link.
What is not
- Training or fine-tuning machine-learning models on the content of this site.
- Republishing pages in full, on another site or in a dataset, without our written permission.
- Presenting our content as someone else's, or without a link to the source.
How we signal it
The same policy is stated where machines look for it:
- robots.txt carries
Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=no, a machine-readable statement of this policy. - llms.txt summarises the site for language models and links back here.
- Two RSS feeds, English and German, list every page with a summary.
Signals like these are new and not every crawler honours them. They state our position; they do not enforce it.
Why we publish this
Deciding what machines may do with your content is part of the assessment we sell. It would be odd not to decide it for our own site.
